Our patterns of work and rest reveal what we believe to be true about God and ourselves. God alone requires no limits on his activity. To rest is to acknowledge that we humans are limited by design. We are created for rest just as surely as we are created for labor. An inability or unwillingness to cease from our labors is a confession of unbelief, an admission that we view ourselves as creator and sustainer of our own universe.
March 17
Below are some ways you can participate in The Lent Journey with the Northeastern Seminary & Roberts Wesleyan Community.

Prayer
Ask and Reflect
Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. —The Book of Common Prayer

Active Reflection
Take Action
Today, take a break from social media and embrace the quiet. Step away from the constant stream of notifications, opinions, and distractions, and allow yourself to be fully present. Use this time to reflect, pray, and engage in meaningful connections with those around you. Let the silence create space for deeper awareness, renewal, and a clearer sense of God's presence in your day.
