March 19

It's no coincidence that the word 'holiday' suggests a holy day, or that the longest book in the Torah concerns the Sabbath. If you wish to advance in any sphere, the best way is to take a retreat.

Below are some ways you can participate in The Lent Journey with the Northeastern Seminary & Roberts Wesleyan Community.

Active Reflection

Journaling

Reflect on a time when you felt deeply connected to a loved one. What made that moment meaningful? How can you be more intentional about creating those moments in your daily life?

Prayer

Ask and Reflect

O Christ our Sabbath, You have fashioned us to function best in rhyming lines of work and rest; our relaxations and recreations like unspoken invitations to that still greater holiday to come - when all burdens will at last be shed and weariness be put to bed, and gladsome joy stretch endlessly before us. As you called your disciples to come away with you, retreating from the crush of crowds, pausing in their long work, simply to rest, to reflect, to enjoy your company, your words, your conversation, to enjoy their fellowship with one another, so help us also, to carve out spaces merely to be, to be with you. You are our rest, Jesus. —Every Moment Holy Volume 1

Active Reflection

Take Action

Today, be fully present with those you love. Share a meal, play a game, or engage in meaningful conversation without distractions. Let your time together be a reflection of God’s love and presence in your relationships.
